A new start
As we dive into 2012, it is with a sense of nova initia (new beginnings) at the challenges and experiences ahead that await us. Finding a balance between resolutions and reality can be tricky, because the idealism of the former tends to be counteracted by the cold splash of the latter – but here’s to all our efforts anyway!
The release of the 2011 matric results was a big event, and we’re very proud of our Boland and Helderberg pupils who excelled in this academic milestone.
Fire and water are always prevalent themes, and the heat wave (coupled with prevailing winds) is a wake-up call to be alert in preventing runaway fires. Tragically, there has been a spike in the number of drownings along our coastline, and water safety is an ongoing concern to rescue officials.
Road safety and the impact of thousands of visitors to our region also brought challenges, but it’s part of maintaining our economic health, so bon voyage and come back next year!
